There are many ways to study the Bible. The one that forces me to dig into the text is to study with the purpose of building a Bible study guide to be used by others. In developing questions to stimulate discussion of the text I’m forced to look at the text in a much deeper way. One of the reasons I haven’t been blogging recently is that I’ve been working on a series of studies that are being used at the Greenwood Community Church in Elk and at Healdsburg Senior Living. I’m going to begin posting the results here in the hope that they prove useful to others. Over time the format will be revised so they can be posted along with our other family Bible activities on mygrandmatime.com.
The answers after the questions are intended to support discussion and provide background information. My hope is that they will be a help to whoever is facilitating the discussion. They are not intended to be shared as definitive answer to each question.
I have used two primary commentary resources to prepare these lessons:
The BE Series Bundle by Warren W. Wiersbe
The Letters to the Philippians, Colossians, and Thessalonians by William J. Barclay
Feedback on format and content are welcomed.
